🔍 Review Process

What happens after you submit an application — timelines, decisions, and next steps.

What "Pending Review" Means

When you submit any application (Authority Talk, Podcast, Offer/Program), its status is set to "Pending Review". This means your submission has been received and is in the queue for our editorial team to evaluate.

You can track the status of all your submissions in Dashboard → My Applications → Submissions tab.

The Pending Review status does not mean there is a problem with your submission — it simply means our team has not yet reviewed it. No action is needed on your part.

Review Timeline

🎤

Authority Talk Applications

5–7 business days. We review your topic, talking points, and audience fit before confirming a slot.

📻

Podcast Submissions (Your Podcast)

3–5 business days. We check the embed URL, content quality, and topic relevance.

🎙️

Podcast Guest Applications

5–10 business days. Scheduling a recording session takes additional coordination.

🎁

Offer / Program Submissions

2–5 business days. We verify the offer details, pricing, and linked URL before publishing.

After a Decision Is Made

If Approved ✅

  • You receive an approval notification in your Dashboard bell panel
  • The content is published and visible in your Authority Hub tab
  • For talks and podcast guest spots, our team will follow up via email to confirm scheduling details
  • Approved offers appear on your public author profile in the Offers section

If Not Approved ✖

  • You receive a rejection notification in your bell panel with a brief status update
  • The submission status in My Applications updates to "Not Approved"
  • You are welcome to refine your submission and reapply — there is no limit on reapplications
  • For specific feedback on why an application was not approved, contact support@theauthorityshelf.com

Common Reasons for Rejection

  • Topic too broad: "Business" or "Marketing" with no specific angle — narrow your focus
  • Broken or missing URL: Ensure podcast embed links and offer URLs are working before submitting
  • Incomplete bio or talking points: Provide enough detail for our team to assess your expertise
  • Scheduling conflict: For talks, your preferred dates may not align with our current calendar — reapply with new dates

Reapplying

You can submit a new application at any time from Dashboard → My Applications. Previous rejected submissions remain in your Submissions tab for reference but do not block new applications.
