AuthorityShelf is a curated, two-sided marketplace that connects expert authors (including entrepreneurs, thought leaders, and speakers) with readers seeking to discover and learn from these experts. The Platform facilitates profile-based discovery and may include premium services and educational offerings.

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Creation

To use certain features of the Platform, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to keep your account information updated. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

3.2 Author Accounts

If you register as an author on the Platform, you represent and warrant that you are the rightful owner of the content you display and that you have all necessary rights to publish and license such content. Author profiles must comply with our Content Guidelines and you agree not to engage in fraudulent or misleading practices.

3.3 Account Termination

We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your account at any time for violations of these Terms, abusive behavior, or for any reason we deem appropriate. Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ends immediately.

4. Intellectual Property Rights

All content on the Platform, including text, graphics, logos, images, and software, is the property of AuthorityShelf or its content suppliers and is protected by international copyright laws. Authors retain ownership of their uploaded content and grant AuthorityShelf a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and promote their profiles and content on the Platform.

5. User Content and Conduct

5.1 User Responsibilities

You are solely responsible for any content you upload, post, or transmit on the Platform. You agree that your content will not:

  • Infringe upon any intellectual property rights of third parties
  • Contain false, defamatory, or misleading information
  • Violate any applicable laws or regulations
  • Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
  • Contain spam, malware, or harmful code

5.2 Content Moderation

AuthorityShelf reserves the right to review, edit, or remove any user content that violates these Terms. We may also disable access to the Platform for users who repeatedly violate our policies.

6. Payments and Billing

6.1 Payment Processing

All payments on the Platform are processed through Stripe, our third-party payment processor. By making a payment, you authorize us to charge your payment method for the amount due. You agree to provide accurate billing and payment information.

6.2 Subscription Plans

Certain features of the Platform may require a paid subscription or one-time payment. Subscription plans will renew automatically unless canceled. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings, and the cancellation will take effect at the end of your current billing period.

6.3 Refund Policy

Refund requests must be submitted within 30 days of purchase. AuthorityShelf reserves the right to approve or deny refund requests on a case-by-case basis. No refunds will be issued for subscription plans that have been partially used, except as required by law.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, AuthorityShelf shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Platform, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid to AuthorityShelf in the 12 months preceding the claim.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. AuthorityShelf does not warrant that the Platform will be error-free, uninterrupted, or secure, or that any defects will be corrected. You use the Platform at your own risk.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless AuthorityShelf, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including attorneys’ fees) arising out of your use of the Platform, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any intellectual property rights.

10. Third-Party Links and Services

The Platform may contain links to third-party websites and services. AuthorityShelf is not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of these external sites. Your use of third-party services is governed by their own terms and conditions.

11. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. You agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in New York County, New York.

12. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
